4th member of K-pop group TWICE tests positive for Covid-19 after US trip


Another member of K-pop girl group TWICE has tested positive for Covid-19 after arriving in South Korea from their concert in the US.

“We are sad to inform you that TWICE member Mina has tested positive for COVID-19 antigen testing on May 23rd,” agency JYP Entertainment announced on May 23.

TWICE finished their Los Angeles concert on May 15 at the Banc of California Stadium and flew back to South Korea on May 21.

Mina is the fourth member of TWICE to be diagnosed with Covid-19 since coming back in South Korea.

On May 22, JYP Entertainment said “TWICE members Nayeon, Momo, and Tzuyu have tested positive for COVID-19 PCR testing after arriving in South Korea on May 21st.”

“All members were tested negative for COVID-19 PCR testing after arriving in the United States, for daily antigen testings, and for departure PCR testing. Additionally, Mina has tested negative for PCR testings taken before departure in the US and after arrival in South Korea,” the agency said.

It added that “Mina experienced a slight through irritation and took self-testing kit this morning on May 23rd, and tested positive after antigen testing. She is currently quarantined, following the guidelines from health department.”

South Korea recorded 9,975 new Covid-19 cases on May 23, down from 19,298 recorded on May 22 to bring the total confirmed cases to 17.96 million.

On May 19, the South Korean Embassy in Manila announced that it will resume the issuance of all types of visas including tourist visas starting on June 1.
