Police arrest 2 suspects in shabu buy-bust operations in Taguig, Muntinlupa


The Taguig and Muntinlupa police arrested two drug suspects in buy-bust operations on May 21.

According to the Southern Police District (SPD), at about 8:30 p.m. the Muntinlupa police launched a buy-bust operation at Purok 8, Bautista Compound in Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa.

Arrested during the operation was suspect Marites Villamor, 41. Seized from the suspect were two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 6.4 grams with an estimated value of P43,520 and two P100 bills used as buy-bust money.

In Sitio Bayani in Barangay Western Bicutan, the Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) arrested suspect Jimmy Lucena, 38, during a buy-bust operation.

Seized from him were five plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 12.3 grams with a value of P83,640 and two P100 bills.

The two suspects are under the custody of the police and the illegal drugs were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

They will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

SPD director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg commended the police, saying “these accomplishments coupled with other major accomplishments in our area will immensely reduce the drug circulation. Also, it will lower the crime incidents because most of the crimes perpetrated by these individuals are connected to illegal drugs.”
