CAGAYAN – Cops here have shown their support to addressing the problems caused by climate change by planting trees in designated areas in the province.
On Thursday (May 19), the Cagayan Police Provincial Office again conducted a tree planting activity inside the Camp Tirso H. Gador in Tuguegarao City.
Colonel Renell R. Sabaldica, provincial director of Cagayan Police Provincial Office (PPO), led the planting of 200 Mahogany and Calumpit trees in the most common flooded area in the camp.
Actually, the tree-planting activities were simultaneously done throughout the province of Cagayan by cops to help in dealing with the climate change and mitigate harsh impacts of floods, severe storms and landslides.
The activity is also in support of the ‘I Love Cagayan River Movement’ of the Cagayan Provincial Government and in accordance with the Clean and Green.
A total of 101,233 trees have already been planted throughout the province since the Cagayan PPO Chief took office last year.
Meanwhile, Colonel Sabaldica expressed his sincere gratitude to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Region 2, officers and members of the National Coalition of Advocacy Support Group and Stakeholders for the continuous support in their activities such as tree planting within their jurisdiction.
