The Philippine women’s volleyball team yielded to Indonesia, 25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 25-21, to finish fourth in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam Saturday night.
The Nationals squandered an 18-12 lead and saw the Indonesians attacking them from all angles, racking up 10 straight points to gain the 22-18 upperhand.
A spike from Kat Tolentino briefly stopped the bleeding for the Filipina spikers, but the Indonesians turned to their rock-solid net defense.
Mylene Paat tried to salvage the Nationals with her kills, but the Indonesians were tough to crack as a down-the-line spike from their rivals sealed their fate.
With the victory, the Indonesians bagged the bronze medal.
