Senator Richard Gordon on Saturday, May 21 said he and his wife, Kate, are filled with grief as Philippine cinema lost its undisputed queen with the demise of Susan Roces on Friday.
‘’She, along with her late husband, Fernando Poe, Jr. (FPJ), shaped the last six decades of Philippine entertainment with beauty, elegance, and class,’’ he said.
In a statement, Gordon said: ‘’We will forever be grateful for the couple’s contributions to enrich the visual arts of the country.’’
‘'She had worked until the very end, a true testament to her professionalism and devotion to the craft.
‘’Kate and I express our deepest condolences to her bereaved family, especially to her only child, my colleague, Senator Grace Poe," the outgoing senator said.
‘’May she rest in eternal peace," Gordon said of Roces.
