People under the A1 category such as workers in frontline health services, and A2, or the senior citizens, who had their first booster shot four months ago are the only ones qualified for a second booster shot as of writing.

They must bring their vaccination card showing the date of their first booster shot as well as a government-issued ID, no appointment is needed.

“Hinihikayat ko ang ating mga kababayan na frontline healthcare workers at senior citizens na fully vaccinated at may first booster shot na kunin na ang second booster shot para sa kanilang proteksyon ( I am encouraging frontline healthcare workers at senior citizens who are fully vaccinated and already have their first booster shot to get a second booster shot for their protection),” PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard Gordon said.

This vaccination drive at PRC Bakuna Centers is in line with the Department of Health (DOH)’s announcement on May 18, allowing the administration of a second booster shot.

DOH emphasized that a second booster shot will give more defense for highly vulnerable individuals — health workers and seniors. They also assured that it is safe, effective, and free.

PRC has started giving Covid-19 vaccines in March 2021 and as of May 19, 2022, it has administered 1,176,151 doses of Covid-19 vaccines and boosters, of which 92,712 are boosters. It has fully vaccinated a total of 372,352 individuals. (Luisa Cabato)
