Parañaque City gov’t receives donation of 7,230 doses of Moderna vaccines


The Parañaque City government received 7,230 doses of Moderna vaccines from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on Wednesday, May 18.

Mayor Edwin Olivarez and Dr. Jefferson Pagsisihan, Ospital ng Parañaque (OSPAR) medical director, received the vaccines during the turnover ceremony held at OSPAR2.

Olivarez personally thanked the BSP Employees’ Association, Inc., headed by its president, Dr. Paul Youankee, for the donation of 7,230 doses of Moderna vaccines.

He said the vaccines donation is a big help to the city government in its fight against Covid-19.

A meeting led by Olivarez and Pagsisihan followed after the turn over ceremony with the General Services Office (GSO) and the Engineering Office to improve the services and operation of OSPAR2.

The mayor said the City Health Office (CHO) recorded eight new cases of Covid-19, bringing to 20 the total number of active cases on May 17.

Olivarez urged residents not to forget the basic health protocols being implemented by the city government.

He said the communities with Covid-19 are Barangays BF and Moonwalk -- both with four cases, Merville and San Antonio with three cases each, Don Bosco with two; San Dionisio, Santo Nino, Vitales with one case each.
