Bros JV, Jinggoy get Senate comeback, hug each other


Half-brothers, JV Ejercito and Jinggoy Estrada, both got a Senate comeback after garnering enough votes to get elected as senators anew during the May 2022 polls.

In the recently concluded polls, Ejercito got the 10th spot in the Magic 12, while Estrada secured the 12th Senate seat.

Comelec data showed that Ejercito garnered 15,841,858 votes, while his half-brother got 15,108,625 votes.

On Wednesday, May 18, the estranged half-brothers shook and raised each other's hands, and even hugged each other. The crowd at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Forum Tent all cheered upon witnessing such gestures of the JV and Jinggoy.

From 2013 to 2019, Ejercito served as a senator. Meanwhile, Estrada served as a senator from 2004 to 2016.

Both are sons of former President Joseph “Erap” Ejercito-Estrada.

In 2019, both half-brothers tried to get elected as senators anew in the midterm elections but lost.
