P3-M worth of ketamine seized from Taiwanese national


PAMPANGA – Authorities seized about 600 grams of ketamine worth P3,000,000 from a Taiwanese national during a controlled delivery operation on Tuesday dawn (May 17) in Makati City.

Authorities said that the package containing ketamine was declared as Air Purifier and arrived at the Port of Clark, Pampanga last May 12, 2022.

Operatives from PDEA Region 3 identified the carrier as Chang Bin Yen, 33, resident of Tainan, Taiwan.

Confiscated during the operation were two boxes containing the six pieces of stainless steel water purifier where 600 grams of the prohibited substance is concealed.

Said operation was conducted by joint operatives led by PDEA Central Luzon, BOC Port of Clark, South Police District and Makati City Police.

A charge for violation of section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) will be filed against the arrested suspect.

According to PDEA 3 chemists, Ketamine is a dangerous drug classified as Hallucinogenic Drugs.

It can sedate, incapacitate, and cause short term memory loss, and because of this, some people use it as date-rape drug.
