P1.36-M shabu seized from drug trader in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY – Cops confiscated at least P1.36 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) from a 46-year old market vendor they arrested during an anti-drug operation in Iloilo City over the weekend.

The police said the drug suspect, Res Bisana Leonardo, is on the high-value target list of drug personalities.

Leonardo was caught by combined elements of the Iloilo City Police Station (ICPO-Station 4) and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) under Police Regional Office (PRO-6).

Leonardo specifically sold one sachet of suspected shabu worth P9,000 to an undercover cop.

Aside from the initial sachet of shabu sold, cops also recovered 200 grams more of shabu from Leonardo. Its estimated street value is pegged at P1.36 million.

Based on police records, Leonardo was previously imprisoned when he was convicted for a homicide case in 2013. However, he was released after serving his sentence.

In 2018, Leonardo also surrendered to authorities during the Duterte administration’s anti-drug program.

Leonardo is charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
