After a three-month political campaign leading to the May 9, 2022 national and local elections, the Senate and the House of Representatives resume regular session on May 23.

On May 24, both houses of Congress are expected to convene in a joint session on May 24 to canvass the votes for the 2022 presidential and vice presidential elections.

Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III earlier said he expected the two houses to proclaim the winners on May 27.

The two houses adjourn sine die on June 3. The 19th Congress starts on July 25.
