The Muntinlupa City government congratulated Annie Ramirez who won a gold medal for the Philippines at the 31st Southeast Asian Games being held in Vietnam.
Ramirez, a Muntinlupa resident, bagged a gold medal in Jujitsu-Women's U 62kg-GI at the SEA Games on May 14 against Thai Orapa Senatham. With the win, she earned the country’s 10th gold medal at the SEA Games. She won a gold medal for the country at the 2019 SEA Games
On May 16, Ramirez paid a courtesy call on congressman-elect and outgoing Mayor Jaime Fresnedi and on the members of the Muntinlupa City Council.
The City Council is set to pass a resolution to recognize Ramirez’s achievement and grant her financial reward.
Fresnedi congratulated Ramirez for her feat, saying she is a pride of Muntinlupa.
According to the Academia John Baylon-CDJJF (Clube De Jiu Jitsu Filipinas) website, Ramirez, who is an assistant instructor in judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, has received many commendations and awards.
