KathNiel fans can't get over the fact that their favorite love team will be together again in a first-of-its-kind streaming series that's set to captivate the hearts of everyone and make people believe in love again after all the negativity of this pandemic.
"This is our 10th-year anniversary gift to everyone," announced lead star Kathryn Bernardo on her series '2 Good 2 Be True' with partner Daniel Padilla, which premieres on Netflix, iWantTFC and the Kapamilya Channel on May 16. "We're thankful to the bosses and the fans who patiently waited. They deserve nothing but the best."
The loveteam with record-breaking box office hits acknowledged that 10 years is indeed a long time for two people to last in reel and real life. Kathryn stated that "there's no exact formula" on why they lasted so long, but "respect and teamwork" are definitely the key to a successful partnership.
"It's important that you don't see each other as competition. Dapat nagtutulungan kayo paakyat and with DJ (nickname of Daniel), hawak kamay kami. Nandiyan kami para sa isa't isa," revealed Kathryn.
Daniel agreed, saying:" Kahit anong eksena, yung support namin sa isa't isa ang important."
Gelli De Belen, who worked with the duo, attested to the fact that Kathryn and Daniel "bring out the best in each other" not just in a personal capacity, but professionally as well.
"Gusto nila, kung ano ang ginagawa nila, maganda talaga," she remarked.
2 Good 2 Be True is the story of Eloy and Ali (played by Kathryn and Daniel respectively) whose lives are different from each other, but they somehow meet under serendipitous circumstances. The twists to the story that happen after their meeting is what provides excitement to this series, which is directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar and Paco Sta. Maria.
Kathniel is supported in 2 Good 2 Be True by a powerhouse cast of veteran actors which includes Ronaldo Valdez as Lolo Hugo Agcaoili, Gloria Diaz as Helena Agcaoili, Gelli De Belen as Margie Fajardo (mother of Eloy), Romnick Sarmenta as Fred Borja (father of Ali). Irma Adlawan as Heart Borja and Cris Villanueva as Captain Rosales.
Others in the series are Smokey Manaloto, Matt Evans, Yves Flores, Alyssa Muhlach, Bianca De Vera, Pamu Pamorada, Hyubs Azarcon, Gillian Vicencio, and Via Antonio.
2G2BT is ABS-CBN's first groundbreaking collaboration with Netflix. The series was first aired on Netflix's global audience last May 13 before it was shown to paid subscribers of IWantTFC on May 14 and Kapamilya Channel Primetime Bida on May 16.
