Fanny Serrano, celebrated makeup artist and stylist, passes away


Celebrity makeup artist and stylist Fanny Serrano has passed away, according to social media accounts of Filipino fashion designers. He was 72.

On Facebook May 11, fashion designer Dave Ocampo wrote: "GOOD BYE TITA FANNY SERRANO THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORDS AND THE WORDS OF LORD JESUS YOU SHARE WITH US. YOU WILL BE MISS BY YOUR DESIGNERS CIRCLE PHILIPPINES FAMILY!! LOVE YOU TF YOU ARE A FRIEND, A MENTOR, A BROTHER TO ME. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!"

Ocampo is the vice president for External Affairs of Designers Circle Philippines.

Swimwear designer Domz Ramos also paid tribute to Fanny.

"I love you Tita Fanny REST IN PEACE. Thank you for trusting me to be your stylist when I was starting in the industry. YOU WILL BE FOREVER IN MY HEART!!!! Ramos said.

In March 2021, Fanny, whose real name is Felix Mariano Fausto Jr., suffered a massive stroke, according to one of his close friends Megastar Sharon Cuneta.

On Instagram, Sharon was in tears as she requested netizens for prayers and healing for Fanny.

“Tita Fanny Serrano had a massive stroke today. He is still very conscious but please pray for him.

Please, please pray for Tita Fanny. I love him so much.

“He’s like a family to me.  So please pray for his healing,” Sharon appealed.

In Sept. 2016, Serrano was rushed to the hospital after suffering from stroke.

That time, Serrano had two minor strokes that affected his senses and motor skills.

Fanny described his recovery then as a miracle.
