Voter turnout for overseas voting has reached more than 34 percent.

But the Commission on Elections (Comelec) expects the number to still increase.

"For overseas voting we reached 34.24 percent voting turnout. This is slightly higher compared to the 32 something in 2016," Comelec Commissioner Marlon Casquejo said in a press briefing Tuesday, May 10 at the PICC Forum Tent in Pasay City.

"Not all have submitted. So, hopefully, this will still increase. It will reach to 36 or 37 percent," he added.

The Comelec, however, did not provide the breakdown.

There are 1.6 million registered overseas voters in the May 2022 polls.

The overseas voting period ran from April 10, 2022 to May 9, 2022.
