Sputnik gang member arrested for stabbing barker in Pasay City


A member of the notorious Sputnik gang who stabbed a barker for reportedly "annoying" him while calling for passengers was arrested in Pasay City on Sunday, May 8.

Col. Cesar Paday-os, city police chief, identified the suspect as Rolando Reano, 44, also a barker and a resident of Zamora St., Pasay City. He is now detained at the Pasay City police custodial facility.

Paday-os said the incident happened around 5 p.m. along EDSA corner Zamora St., Pasay City.

He said the victim, identified as Lorenzo Sadava, 26, and Reano were both calling for passengers when Reano got annoyed and a heated argument ensued between the two.

The city police chief said Reano pulled out an ice pick and stabbed Sadava twice in the stomach.

Sadava was brought to the San Juan de Dios Hospital for treatment.
