Pangilinan says on election day: 'Win or lose,' the journey continues

For vice-presidential candidate Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan, being able to help "inspire and awaken" the people is already a victory.

So win or lose, he said, the journey continues.

"Win or lose, having helped inspire and awaken our people and the nation towards purposeful action is victory in itself. The struggle and the journey continue," the senator said as he penned a message on election day, May 9, on his Facebook page.

Pangilinan has once again expressed his gratitude for the rare opportunity to lead a campaign that sparked a movement among the people.

"It has truly been both a privilege and an honor to help lead the charge in this epic, historic battle for the soul of the nation. For this rare opportunity, I will forever be thankful. Even moreso knowing that I fought hard and mightily alongside many of you," he said.

He went on to reiterate his gratitude towards his supporters, whom he said, are the soul and heart of their campaign. "What an incredible journey, an amazing experience of a lifetime," he said.

"Truly an honor to be able to do this with all of you, a rare, God-given chance to show our love for our country and our people. Maraming maraming salamat sa inyong lahat sa sakripisyo, pagod, puyat, tiwala at suporta (Thank you so much for all your sacrifices, hardwork, trust, and support)," he added.

As he cast his vote at the Inchican Elementary School in Silang, Cavite, with his wife, megastar Sharon Cuneta, Pangilinan surrendered the outcome to the people and to God's will.

"We have fought the good fight and have mightily kept the faith. Again thank you for all you have done in support of our efforts. Now we surrender the outcome to our people and the Almighty," he said.
