Mayor Zamora says voters to judge candidates based on Covid-19 response

Incumbent San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora cast his vote on Monday, May 9, as he expressed hope that the people will vote wisely and take into consideration the various programs the local government has made to improve the lives of San Juaneños, especially amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Zamora, together with his wife Keri and daughter Amanda, who is a first-time voter, cast their ballots at Xavier School in Greenhills, San Juan.

In an interview, Zamora said that this year's election is very different from the previous elections mainly because the public will determine the winner based on how the candidates have helped them get through the pandemic.

"Excited naman po ako at alam ko naman pong tayo ay nagtrabaho lalo na sa panahon ng pandemya, at alam ko din pong alam ng ating mga mamamayan kung sino ang naglingkod ng maayos (I am excited because I know that we have served well especially in this time of the pandemic. I also know that our citizens know the leaders who have served them properly)," Zamora said.

Zamora is vying for his second term as mayor of San Juan. Running with him under Team Makabagong San Juan include Vice Mayor Warren Villa, Atty. Bel Zamora for congresswoman, Angelo Agcaoili, Paul Artadi, Raissa Laurel, Ryan Llanos Dee, Ervic Vijandre, and James Yap for District1 councilors.

The team’s slate for District 2 is composed of Don Allado, Totoy Bernando, Bea de Guzman, Macky Mathay, Kit Peralta, and Franco Tañada-Yam for councilors.
