Hours after the close of voting, the number of election returns (ERs) received by the server of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) reached 79.20 percent as of 11:09 p.m. Monday, May 9.
This means 84,092 out of the 106,174 local ERs expected to be received.
As for overseas ERs, 110 (7.82 percent) have been received out of the 1,406 expected.
Acting Comelec Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said the public may monitor the developments in the transmission of the ERs via the https://2022electionresults.comelec.gov.ph/#/dashboard.
The poll official, meantime, explained the canvassing process.
Laudiangco said the ERs are transmitted to the City/Municipal Board of Canvassers for votes to be canvassed.
After the canvass of votes at the city and municipal level, the Provincial Board of Canvassers will then have their turn to canvass votes at the provincial level.
The canvassing will then shift to the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) after the provincial winners have been proclaimed.
