Blockbuster lines seen in several polling centers in Manila


Voters lined up to cast their votes at the Magat Salamat Elementary Elementary School in Tondo, Manila on Monday, May 9.

According to one of the teachers of Magat Salamat Elementary School, they started the preparations for Election Day as early as 12:01 a.m.

Over 31,000 people are expected to cast their votes at the school.

The Magat Salamat Elementary School also has precincts of the nearby Manuel L. Quezon High School which is currently under construction

Voters were asked to undergo a temperature check to enter the premises as part of the safety protocols.

Presidential candidate Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso will also cast his vote at the Magat Salamat Elementary School.

Meanwhile, in Sta. Ana Elementary School voters were stuck in line after reports that some Vote Counting Machines (VCMs) were malfunctioning.

Voters were asked to sign a waiver allowing poll watchers to insert their ballots into the VCM.

At the Legarda Elementary School in Sampaloc, Manila, voters also lined up to cast their votes. Around 32,000 voters are expected to show up to vote.
