19 VCMs in Quezon province malfunction


QUEZON -- Nineteen vote-counting machines (VCMs) reportedly malfunctioned in various precincts in different towns of the province hours after the start of the 2022 national and local elections on Monday.

The Manila Bulletin was able to secure from Quezon Police Provincial Office operation center the list of precincts that reported malfunctioning VCMs.

These were:

Brgy 5, Lucena City - Maryhill School (cluster 6); Brgy. Ilayang Dupay, Lucena City - Elementary School;

Brgy. Cotta at South 1 Elementary School Lucena City - (Precint 63); Brgy. 7 at East 2 Elementary School Lucena City - (Cluster 20);

Brgy. 4 at Sto Rosario Elementary School Lucena City - (cluster 9); Brgy. Huinguinwin Huiguiwin Elementary School, Padre Burgos (Precint 125); Brgy. Huinguinwin Huiguiwin Elementary School, Padre Burgos;

Brgy. Anos at Anos Elementary School, Macalelon, Quezon (Precint no. 0020A, 0021A, 0021P); Brgy. Huyon--huyon at Sitio Pantay Elementary School, San Francisco, Quezon (Precint 31); Brgy. Sisi at Sisi Elementary School, Guinayangan Quezon (Precint 0086); Brgy. Carlagan at Carlagan Elementary School, Burdeos, Quezon (Precint 21);

Brgy. Sampaloc at Sampaloc Elementary School, Sariaya Quezon (Precint 118); Brgy. Janagdong at Janagdong 1 Elementary School, Sariaya, Quezon (Precint 127);Brgy. Kilogan, at Kilogan Elementary School, Patnanungan, Quezon (Precint 0017A-0017B. 0018A); Brgy. Ipilan at Ipilan Alitao Elementary School, Tayabas City (Precint 95A, 95B, 96A, 96B, 96C);

Brgy. Angeles zone 1 at Tayabas east Elementary School (Cluster 86); Brgy. Dapdap, Dapdap Elementary School, Tayabas City (Precint 1); Cabulihan Elementary School, Pitogo, Quezon (Precint 7), and Brgy. Tala at Tala Elementary School, San Andres Quezon (Precint no. 25).

Meanwhile, incumbent governor and re-electionist Gov. Danilo Suarez and Quezon third district re-electionist Rep. Aleta Suarez cast their votes at the Unisan Central School in Unisan, Quezon.

There were 1,127 polling precincts within the province as reported by QPPO.

Senatoriable and retired PNP chief Guillermo Eleazar cast his vote at the Tagkawayan Cenrtal Elementary School in Tagkawayan town.
