SBP holds ‘grand miting de avance’ at QCMC


The Serbisyo sa Bayan Party (SBP) led by incumbent Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Saturday, May 7, held a grand miting de avance at the Quezon City Memorial Circle(QCMC) as their final campaign activity for the national and local elections on May 9.

Present on the said event is Mayoral candidate Joy Belmonte, vice mayor Gian Sotto and other candidates under SBP.

Belmonte, who is running for her second term as mayor, cited some of the city’s programs implemented in terms of housing, education, livelihood, employment, health, and Covid-19 response.

“Sa gitna ng pandemiya, ang dami na nating napagtagumpayan, tinanggap natin ang mga hamon, nilampasan natin ang mga limitasyon, at tumugon tayo sa tawag ng pinakamahirap na panahon sa kasaysayan ng ating lungsod at sabay-sabay tayong umahon. Ngayon, handa na tayong sama-samang bumangon (In the midst of the pandemic, we have acomplished a lot, we have accepted the challenges, we have surpassed the limits, and responded to the call of the most difficult time in the history of our city, and we have risen together. Now, we are ready to rise together),” Belmonte said.

Belmonte also laid out some of their plans such as adding scholarships for students, construction of a new Quezon CIty University campus, health centers, and parks, more beneficaries of their “Pangkabuhayang QC” livelihood assistance program, and improvement of online services, bike lanes, and sports facilities, as well as their response to different problems and incidents like flood.

She said that her target in the coming years is to surpass the city’s records and achievements.

The mayor encouraged the residents to vote for the leader who is honest, competent and has conscience.

The SBP’s candidates for district representatives are Arjo Atayde for District 1; Ralph Tulfo for District 2, Franz Pumaren for District 3; Bong Suntay for District 4; PM Vargas for District 5, and Marivic Co-Pilar for District 6.

Senatorial candidates former Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar and JV Ejercito were also present during the said event.
