Robredo’s miting de avance tops PH Twitter trend; 5.8M Pinoys stream on Facebook


The miting de avance of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan on Saturday, May 7, along the stretch of Ayala Avenue in Makati City did not only draw an estimated 780,000 people on the ground, but was also watched by some 5.8 million viewers on Facebook and had 405,000 views on YouTube.

On Twitter, the Philippine trending topics were hashtags related to the miting de avance.

#MakatiIsPink is on the top list with 107,000 tweets, #Ipana7oNa10ParaSaLahat is on top two, and #KikoIsOurVP is on the third spot.

The hashtags #PilipinasIsPink and #NagaIsPink are also trending on the fourth and fifth spots.

In the worldwide trending topics, #Ipana7oNa10ParaSaLahat and #MakatiIsPink are on the fifth and sixth spots, respectively.

The hashtag #Ipana7oNa10ParaSaLahat had been trending for six hours with 157,000 tweets while #MakatiIsPink had been trending for 14 hours with 517,000 tweets.

Local organizers reported that over 780,000 kakampinks trooped to the center of Makati’s financial district, making it one of the biggest political rallies in recent time.
