1.9M passengers benefit from free QCity bus ride

Around 1.9 million passengers in Quezon City have benefitted from the city government's QCity Bus Augmentation Program since January this year.

The free ride program was a project of the Quezon City program in 2020 to address the lack of available public transportation due to community quarantine restrictions set by the national government.

"Libreng Sakay" rides were initially provided from May to July of that year along four routes to access many public and private hospitals in Quezon City.

In December 2020, the four routes became eight, passing through major thoroughfares and bringing more people to more destinations throughout the City.

Our QCitizens can count on the continuity of our programs, such as the QCity Bus, which are designed to help QCs, by providing free rides to our citizens),” incumbent Mayor Joy Belmonte said.

This is just proof that we also return the people's tax to the people of our dear City)," she added.
