The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said a total of 472, 559 registered overseas voters have so far cast their votes.
The figure is equivalent to 27.84 percent of the 1,697,215 registered voters overseas.

Comelec data showed that most of the overseas voters came from the Middle East and African Region at 181,399 and Asia Pacific Region at 170,752.
The poll body also recorded 72,323 voters in the North and Latin American region and 48,084 in the European region.
Overseas voting started last April 10 and will end on Monday, May 9, the Comelec said.
In a related development, Comelec Commissioner Marlon Casquejo said that overseas voting in Shanghai, China remains suspended due to the Covid-19 situation there. A special election will be conducted once the situation gets better.
