MB Daily News Update: All systems go for May 9 polls


With the election just three days away, contending parties are winding up their campaigns, while the Commission on Elections (Comelec) tries to iron all the kinks related to the May 9 polls.

Among the poll agency’s latest announcements were: the 7 p.m. cut-off in voting could be extended, and there are almost 2,000 vote counting machines (VCMs) that are at the ready to replace defective VCMs.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has placed all its units under the highest alert, raising its prevention and reaction capabilities for any untoward incident during the elections.

Meanwhile, there was less number of Filipinos, who went jobless, in March this year.
