CCP reveals new marquee for Tanghalang Manuel Conde

Together with DaangDokyu.Ph, the Cultural Center Of The Philippines has officially reopened the Dream Theater, also known as the Tanghalang Manuel Conde.

Associate Artistic Director for Production and Exhibition Ariel Yonzon gave a short introduction for the opening of the Tanghalang Manuel Conde.

"The design of the new marquee as we unveil in a short while was made possible by Mr. Ricardo Eric Cruz of our Production design and technical services division. So I hope we do justice to the namesake of the venue by reopening it," said Yonzon in his speech.

Joined by Atty. Lorna Kapunan (CCP Board Of Trustee), Chris B. Millado (Vice President/ Artistic Director), and Maria Margarita Moran-Floirendo (Chairperson of the Board) unveiled the new marquee for the Dream Theater. 

Documentary filmmaker and co-founder of The Filipino Documentary Society, Jewel Maranan, presented the onsite launch of the DaangDokyu website. 

"Our documentaries trace our story, documentaries have had a long history in the country, parallel to the story of the nation, documentaries have made in and about in the Philippines," Maranan said in her speech. 

Daangdokyu. ph contains all Filipino and International documentaries. 

"Daangdokyu. ph is our contribution to the pressing needs of our time, we hope you visit the website and continue using it. 

And we hope to contribute to developing a more informed audience and in a more rigorous movement for seeking truths in these challenging times," Maranan added. 

Three short films were screened at the Tanghalang Manuel Conde as part of Navigating Daangdokyu.ph. They are:  

  • Fruto Corre's "Tupada '92: The Philippines in the Year of the Elections" 
  • EJ Mijares' "Entablado" 
  • Mike De Leon's "Signos"
