1,468 Bulacan cops deployed to secure polling centers

To secure and maintain the integrity of the national and local elections on May 9, the Bulacan Provincial Police Office (PPO) has deployed 1,468 police personnel to secure the polling centers across the province.

Col. Charlie A. Cabradilla, acting BPPO director, said the 1,593-strong PPO was placed on full alert status this week to ensure peace and order in the 569 clustered voting locations around the province.

The Bulacan PPO established the Provincial Election Monitoring and Action Center (PEMAC) in Camp General Alejo Santos to monitor local election security activities in their respective cities, municipalities, and barangays.

Cabradilla said that before, during, and after the election, the PEMAC will monitor all the voting locations throughout the province.

He assured that the Bulacan PPO is ready and fully prepared for the elections.

"There hasn't been an election-related incident in the province since then. We will not loosen our vigilance in order to prevent any local threats or other criminal elements from gaining an advantage," Cabradilla said.
