YTO Express Philippines, the local subsidiary of YTO Express International Holdings Limited, launched in the Philippines in a grand ceremony at their warehouse in Bulacan.

In attendance were Batangas Province Governor, Hermilando Mandanas, Philippine International Trading Corporation President and CEO, Dave Almarinez, and his celebrity spouse, Ms. Ara Mina-Almarinez, and DICT chief of staff and consultant to the Secretary, Atty. Ira Paulo Pozon.

The event was also graced by business luminaries including Mr. Lugene Ang, President of the Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PCCCII); Mr. Levy Santos - Vice-President for Sales and Marketing of Foton Motors Philippines Inc.; as well as representatives from East West Banking Corporation, Philippine Business Bank Inc., and Asia United Bank Corporation.

The grand launch coincides with the recent turnover of 300 Foton Motors trucks also in April, as the company is poised to begin operations in the NCR and parts of nearby provinces.

In a video message, DICT Chief, Emmanuel Rey “Manny” Caintic, said in his congratulatory speech that “the logistics market alone is set to reach over 1 trillion pesos by 2024.  entry into the Philippine market will bring thousands of jobs to our Filipino citizens, providing additional options to our online sellers, and improve the competitiveness of this sector.”

Caintic added that he has taken numerous steps to streamline the regulatory framework of the Private Express and/or Messengerial Delivery Services (PEMEDES) industry, through a rationalization and digitalization of the processes and requirements of regulation.

YTO Express Co. Ltd. Chairman Weijiao Yu in a video message said that “YTO has launched air cargo routes connecting Manila, Hangzhou, Changsha, Yiwu, and Nanjing to promote cross-border logistics and contribute to the economic development and logistics of the Philippines, China, and even the world.”

Mr. Yu also said “we hope that through this opening ceremony, YTO can build a bridge to make close cooperation with the Philippine partners, enterprises, and e-commerce platforms.”

YTO has over 40 overseas offices and subsidiaries, 500 partners and agents offering services in around 150 countries across six continents. In 2020 YTO delivered one of the first batches of COVID-19 aid donated by the Chinese government to the Philippines.

This year, YTO Express is the official logistics sponsor of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
