Man arrested after stealing motorcycle in Caloocan


Police arrested a man who was caught driving a motorcycle he allegedly stole from a tricycle driver in Caloocan City on Saturday morning, April 30.

The Northern Police District Anti-Carnapping Unit (DACU) identified the suspect as Dave Condes, 18, a resident of Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.

According to the police report, a tricycle driver sought the assistance of DACU after the suspect stole his tricycle parked in front of his house in Barangay 186, Tala, Caloocan City at around 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The victim said he went outside his house due to the barking of dogs and was surprised upon seeing the man taking his tricycle. He chased Condes who managed to flee on board the stolen vehicle.

Responding police officers immediately conducted a follow-up operation, together with the victim. They later spotted the suspect along Balintawak Road in Barangay 175, Camarin at around 9 p.m. on the same day. Condes was riding the complainant’s Skygo SG 150 motorcycle which was detached from its sidecar.

Authorities arrested the suspect after he was positively identified by the complainant. The motorcycle was also recovered.

Police said Condes will be charged for violation of Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Law of 2016.
