Over 6,000 immunocompromised people already received their second Covid-19 booster shot, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Saturday, April 30.

"Meron po tayong 6,702 na nabigyan ng second booster na immunocompromised (We have 6,702 immunocompromised individuals who have been given a second booster)," said DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje on Saturday, April 30.

The government is targeting to administer second Covid-19 booster shots to around 690,000 people who are immunocompromised.

Meanwhile, Cabotaje said the government has already fully vaccinated 67.8 million Filipinos, while about 13.2 million people received their booster doses.

The Health official said that the Health Technology Assessment Council (HTAC) has yet to release its final recommendation for the administration of a second booster shot for senior citizens and healthcare workers.

Cabotaje also assured that the country has ample supply of Covid-19 vaccines even if the government will open the second booster shot program to other priority groups.
