Benguet police arrest suspect for rape of three minors


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Joint personnel from La Trinidad Municipal Police Station and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group on Friday, April 29, arrested a man who allegedly raped his three neighbors who are all minors on three separate occasions.

Col. Reynaldo Pasiwen, provincial director of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, withheld the name of the suspect for the protection of the three victims.

According to the investigation, while the victims’ parents were out of their home, the suspect took advantage of the situation as he allegedly started to abuse the first victim, a 7-year-old, in 2014.

In 2017, the suspect abused the second victim, who was 10 years old. The suspect continued to abuse the same victim in 2018.

On November 23, 2021, the suspect started sexually abusing the third victim, who was 11 years old.

According to Pasiwen, the suspect used money and a cellphone to bribe the innocent victims.

The latest incident happened on February 15, 2022 and after that the victims reported it to their mother, who immediately sought help from Benguet Caretaker Eric Yap.

With Yap's immediate legal assistance, the case was filed against the suspect and a warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Marietta Brawner Cualing, of Branch 9, Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, La Trinidad, Benguet.
