2 hurt, 20 families lose home in QC fire


Two persons were injured while 20 families were rendered homeless when a fire hit a residential area on St. Joseph Street in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City on Friday morning.

The Bureau of Fire Protection Public Information Office (BFP-NCR PIO) said the blaze reached the first alarm at around 11:00 a.m. and was declared under control at around 12:03 p.m.

The fire was extinguished at around 12:34 p.m.

Probers identified the injured individuals as Alex Vega, who suffered a foot laceration, and FO3 Dennes Magsayo who suffered a first-degree burn on his right leg.

Initial investigation revealed that the cause of the blaze was an electrical problem.

Damage to property was pegged at around P50,000.
