ILOILO CITY – Presidential candidate Manila mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso is still hopeful he can still garner votes in Panay and Guimaras Islands, which are known bailiwicks of Vice President Leni Robredo.

“Madamo nga salamat, mga kapwa ko nga Ilonggo! Sobrang nakatataba ng puso (Thank you to my fellow Ilonggos. It’s very heartwarming),” said Domagoso at the end of his three-day campaign sortie with a rally in Iloilo City on Wednesday night (April 27).

Domagoso downplayed that he has not enough support.

“It is important that I am here,” said Domagoso, who also campaigned in the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, and Guimaras.

The former actor even highlighted his strong ties in the region, citing his father is from Antique province. He also said he has relatives living in southern Iloilo province.

However, Domagoso stepped up his criticism of the Robredo camp. This time, he criticized Robredo’s supporters in Iloilo for alleged cancel culture.

“Inapi yung isang partido yung tindahan kung saan kumakain ang kalaban nila (The supporters of one party attacked the restaurant where their enemies ate),” said Domagoso.

Domagoso was referring to the October 2021 incident wherein some of Robredo supporters allegedly started a campaign on Facebook to boycott businesses, whose owners are endorsing presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Domagoso was accompanied by his running-mate Dr. Willie Ong and senatorial candidates Samira Gutoc, Carl Balita, Jopet Sison, and John Castriciones during his sortie.
