The decision of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc on the three motions of reconsideration filed by petitioners against presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr to be out early next week.

In a press briefing, Comelec Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan revealed that five commissioners have already affixed their signature on the resolution.

"Very soon we will be announcing the decision on the three consolidated cases to disqualify BBM. Maybe early next week we can announce the decision," he said in a press briefing in Manila, Thursday, April 28.

"I think five commissioners have already affixed their signatures in the resolution," added Pangarungan.

"Two have yet to sign including me. I will be the last to affix my signature," he said.

As to the MR filed by the Pudno nga Ilocano, Pangarungan said, there might not be enough time to consolidate the fourth case since it was just filed recently in the Commission en banc.

"What we can resolve are the other cases (against Marcos) pending," he said.

All seven petitions against Marcos Jr. were earlier denied by the Comelec First or Second Division.

Three separate MRs were later filed before the Commission en Banc, namely the consolidated disqualification cases filed by Akbayan, Abubakar Mangelen, and Bonifacio Ilagan; the petition to declare as nuisance by Danilo Lihaylihay, and petition to cancel candidacy by Fr Christian Buenafe. The MR of the Ilocano group was filed April 25.
