Police seize P729,000 shabu, gun in Taguig, Muntinlupa


Police arrested five persons and seized P728,960 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and a gun in Taguig and Muntinlupa on April 25 and 26.

On April 26, operatives in Taguig confiscated suspected shabu and firearms along Maguindanao Street in Barangay New Lower Bicutan.

Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the suspects as Lobrex Kalatong, 39, tricycle driver, and Salipada Ibad, 35.

The two were arrested by the Taguig police’s Sub-station 9 personnel together with the Mobile Patrol Unit, Taguig Peace and Order Unit personnel and SPD’s District Mobile Force Battalion through the implementation of a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Antonio Olivete of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 267.

The search yielded one .45-caliber gun, one magazine loaded with five live ammunition and five plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 34 grams and with a value of P231,200.

Kalatong and Ibad, who are under the custody of the Taguig police, will be charged with violations of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) in relation to the Omnibus Election Code and Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Meanwhile, the Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) arrested Aldrin Gabriel, 53, in Barangay North Signal on April 26 by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Olivete.

Recovered from the suspect were 23 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 23.2 grams and with an estimated price of P157,760.

In Muntinlupa, the Muntinlupa police’s Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a buy-bust operation on April 25 in PNR Site Purok 2, Barangay Bayanan that resulted in the arrest of Annrick Sarsonas, 25, and Wen Wright Conde, 28.

The police seized three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 50 grams with a value of P340,000 and P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money.
