Barangay Ginebra San Miguel secured a quarterfinals slot after defeating Platinum Karaoke, 22-19, Wednesday, April 27 in the resumption of the PBA 3x3 Second Conference Grand Finals at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Jayson David and Encho Serrano combined for 14 points as Ginebra completed a two-game sweep of Pool A to reach the quarters of the finale which resumed after it was suspended last week due to a fire inside the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Terrafirma, with an even 1-1 slate, also advanced by claiming the last seat in the knockout stage after Platinum bowed out by losing all two assignments in pool play.

Ginebra was scheduled to face San Miguel Beer while Terrafirma took on TNT in the quarters being played as of posting time.

Other quarterfinal pairings pit first conference champion Limitless against Pioneer Pro Tibay and Meralco squaring off with Sista, which won all two games in Pool A.

The semifinals and finals will be played later in the day, with the second conference winner set to receive the top purse of P750,000.

David, Serrano, Jollo Go and Denice Villamor led at the start, with the highest being at five points, 11-6.

But the Platinum squad of Chris de Chavez, Ael Banal, Yutien Andrada and Ryan Monteclaro rallied to take a 16-14 lead with over three minutes remaining.

Both teams were tied at 17-all when Go hit two foul shots and David scored to put Ginebra on the hill.

De Chavez gave Platinum a lifeline but David knocked a two-pointer with 1:09 to go to seal the victory for Ginebra.
