Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has just been certified as a member of “Mga Gwapo for Leni” or “Gwapinks,” and his first order of business is to ask fellow “gwapos” to use their charm to win over voters for the presidential and vice-presidential bids of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.
“I feel that I am not worthy of this honor from @MgaGwapoForLeni, but since the ageless Chairman @realedumanzano has already spoken... I humbly accept,” the Magdalo leader tweeted, tagging actor Edu Manzano, who has been fervently campaigning for Robredo and Pangilinan.
He also posted a photo holding a trophy with an inscription of “Mga Gwapo for Leni” and his name.
Trillanes then asked members of “Mga Gwapo for Leni,” which has more than 23,000 followers on Twitter, to use their charm in wooing voters.
“In the meantime, I’m calling on all Gwapos for Leni to use your charms to win over as many voters for #TeamLeniKiko,” the senatorial candidate wrote.
Earlier, the group’s Twitter page asked its followers about inducting Trillanes because he’s “very handsome” and “smells good” in person.
Followers responded with their own experiences with the former senator.
“Mga Gwapo for Leni” recently installed Manzano as its “probationary chairman,” and nominated Quezon City Rep. Kit Belmonte as its “founding tito (uncle).”
Actor and TV host Robi Domingo, who issued a “statement” accepting the group’s nomination, was recently elected as “Mga Gwapo For Leni’s” youth representative.
