QC Mayor Belmonte, Vice Mayor Gian Sotto back Eleazar's Senate bid

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and Vice Mayor Gian Sotto have expressed support to the candidacy of former chief PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar.

Belmote, who is running for reelection of one of the country's top vote rich cities, has a long working relationship with Eleazar back when he was still the director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).

Belmote, who was then the vice mayor, would join Eleazar in barangay consultations on peace and order matters.

Eleazar expressed gratitude to Belmonte and Sotto for their belief in his capability to seat as a senator.

"I express ,y sincerest gratitude to Mayor Joy and Vice Mayor Gian for their trust and confidence on me. I assure them that should I win, I assure them of my support to further improve the services to the people of Quezon City," said Eleazar.

"Quezon City is close to my heart and will always be part of what I achieved in the PNP," he added.

It was Eleazar who coined the term "Proud to be QCPD" and it was under his leadership that the QCPD would always have high trust and approval ratings.

He replicated this in his six-month tour of duty as Chief PNP wherein he retired with the PNP landing on the Top 10 with high trust and approval ratings among government agencies.
