OsMak receives historic 5-year PBEM accreditation

The Ospital ng Makati (OsMak) recieved a historic achievement in the field of medicine on Tuesday, April 26, as it continues to excel in giving quality healthcare services to the public.

OsMak has been granted a five-year accreditation from the Philippine Board of Emergency Medicine (PBEM) making it the first government hospital-based emergency medicine training program to ever receive a five-year accreditation.

According to the local government unit (LGU), OsMak's Department of Emergency Prehospital, Disaster, and Ambulatory Care Medicine, which trains Emergency Medical physicians, was given a five-year accreditation instead of the usual three for having consistently complied with the board's requirements.

On March 31, OsMak recently passed a three-day external audit by the certification body, Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS), awarding OsMak with its ISO 9001:2015 certification.

ISO 9001:2015 is defined as the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS) used by organizations as the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Certification to the ISO 9001 standard can enhance an organization’s credibility by showing customers that its products and services meet expectations. In some instances or in some industries, certification is required or legally mandated.
