My father Joaquin is from San Jose de Buenavista, Antique. Like most of our compatriots in the province, he also went to Manila to take risks and look for good opportunities),” he said.

Domagoso also mentioned that the qualities that brought him success in life, including hard work, persistence, and uprightness came from his father.

The Manila mayor then promised that he will focus on the minimum basic needs of the people such as housing, health, education, and employment.

I am coming to you to ask for your help and support. Please help me, I am only asking for a chance and I assure you that I will not disappoint you),” Domagoso said.

The Manila mayor then offered himself anew as an alternative candidate, saying Filipinos want "peace of mind" and are already tired of the political scuffle between the Marcoses and the Aquinos.

I will continue to explain to the people that if they want peace of mind and an end to decades of animosity and revenge between red and yellow, I am available because that is what we will prioritize -- peace and the welfare of the people),” he added.

Also present during the campaign rally in Antique were vice presidential candidate Dr. Willie Ong and Aksyon Demokratiko senatorial candidates Samira Gutoc and Jopet Sison, and guest senatorial candidate John Castriciones of PDP-Laban.

Former singer-turned-government official Mocha Uson and San Jose Buenavista Mayor Elmer Untaran also attended the event.
