LA Tenorio is not taking Meralco for granted when Barangay Ginebra San Miguel seeks to win the PBA Governors’ Cup crown in the rescheduled Game 6 Friday, April 22 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Gin Kings are up 3-2 in the best-of-seven series following their 115-110 win in Game 5 highlighted by a torrid shooting throughout the contest and composure during the final minutes.

Tenorio said that the way Meralco played despite their impressive performance should be a cause of concern for Ginebra going into the potential title-clincher.

“It’s not gonna be easy,” Tenorio said after Game 5. “Even though we had a good shooting night as a team, andoon pa din ang Meralco. Hindi bumibitaw.

“Kailangan namin makita yun. Paano kung di na ganoon kaganda yung shooting namin, baka yung resulta iba,” he continued. “We have to take a look at that and be ready for Meralco na ang daming ginawa to surprise us.”

Game 6 was supposed to take place last Wednesday, but a fire that broke out inside the Smart Araneta Coliseum forced the league to reschedule the match.

Even with the change of venue, Tenorio said the Gin Kings should play the aggressor right from the onset.

“I think ang pinaka-importante gawin talaga is to be aggressive from the start, especially in the third quarter,” he said. “If we’re aggressive in the third quarter, nag-iiba timpla ng game e.”
