Robredo sisters ignore political noise; focus on house-to-house campaign

Showing they are not distracted by any political noise, the three daughters of presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo are focused on reaching out to more Filipinos via their house-to-house campaign.

“Kami po focused sa kampanya. Hindi kami nagpapaapekto. Hindi kami nagpapa-distract sa kung ano mang ingay sa labas (We are focused in the campaign. We don’t get affected. We don’t get distracted by any outside political noise),” Aika said on Tuesday, April 19.

Aika was asked by the media about calls for her mother to withdraw from the presidential race in Isabela.

“Kasi mayroon na lang tayong (Because we only have) 19 or 20 days) left. Talagang iyong attention at focus namin, doon kami nakatutok (Our attention and focus are on that),” she added.

Robredo’s eldest daughter spent Tuesday conducting house-to-house campaign and market run in Cauayan, Luna and Alicia in Isabela.

She also met with the women's sector in Cabatuan and farmers in San Mateo and paid a visit to the Pink Wall with youth leaders in Aurora.

Presidential candidates Senator Panfilo Lacson, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, and former Defense chief Norberto Gonzales announced in a press conference on Sunday, April 17, that they are not withdrawing from the race and they criticized Robredo for supposedly asking them to withdraw.

While they asserted that they would not back out from the presidential derby, Moreno and Gonzales also hit Robredo and asked her to withdraw instead—a position not shared by Lacson.

Gonzales apologized publicly to Robredo for the Easter Sunday presser attacking the Vice President on the premise that he didn’t know Moreno was going to ask her to withdraw from the presidential race.

While Aika was barnstorming the North, her two siblings, Tricia and Jillian, went around Caloocan and Quezon City, respectively, on Tuesday.

Jillian was joined by veteran actor Jaime Fabregas in Quezon City.

Various celebrities also joined the house to house campaign for Robredo, with actor Jake Ejercito and actress Pokwang going around Mandaluyong and Antipolo.

Ejercito was joined by fellow actor Adrian Lindayag while Pokwang went around with celebrity mom Pia Magalona.

Actresses Nikki Valdez and Alora Sassam campaigned in Cagayan and Bukidnon, respectively, while online influencer Pipay conducted house-to-house campaign in Laguna.
