Parañaque City to offer free dialysis treatment

Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the city government will soon offer free dialysis treatment.

Olivarez said the construction of a dialysis center located at the ground floor of Ospital ng Paranaque (OSPAR)- started on March 1 and is expected to be completed on May 15. Services will be available by June.

He said after the completion of the dialysis center at OSPAR-1, the construction of the center to be located at the second floor of OSPAR-2 will start immediately.

Dr. Jefferson Pagsisihan, OSPAR 1 and 2 medical director, said the dialysis center at the hospital was made through a joint venture agreement between the city government and Premier 101 Health Care Management Inc.

Pagsisihan said Premier 101 Management Health Care Management Inc. provided the construction of the center.

He said the health care management will also provide the city government with the machines including the supplies needed for dialysis treatment.

The OSPAR 1 and 2 medical director added the city’s dialysis center will render free service even to patients who are not Parañaque residents.

Pagsisihan said charges will be handled by Philhealth, Malasakit Center, the Department of Health (DOH) medical assistance program, and the city government.

He also said a pharmacy, an X-ray laboratory, ultrasound and CT-scan machines were installed at the hospital in December last year to give better health service to city residents.
