Student nabbed for possessing P1.2 million worth of marijuana bricks in Kalinga


TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- Joint operatives of the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera arrested a student for selling marijuana bricks during a buy-bust operation on Sunday in Sitio Pacak, Agbannawag, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

Col. Peter Tagtag, Jr., provincial director of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, said Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) personnel led by Maj. Dominic Rosario transacted with the suspect Jay-Boy Agyao Amangan, 22, student, and resident of Sitio Pakak, Agbannawag, Tabuk City.

The buy-bust operation was conducted on April 17 at the national highway of Sitio Pacak, Agbannawag, Tabuk City, around 11:25 p.m.

The suspect was found in possession of 10 bricks of dried marijuana leaves and stalks weighing 10,000 grams with a standard drug price of P1,200,000.00 and scattered dried marijuana and stalks inside a carton weighing 50 grams with a value of P6,000.00.

Also recovered from the suspect were two pieces of genuine One thousand peso bill and 86 pieces of one thousand peso boodle money used in the buy-bust; a unit of Vivo android cellular phone, a keychain with keys, a black motorcycle without plate number and a brown cartoon box.

The conducted onsite inventory was witnessed by Lailanie Balao-ing-DOJ Representative; Kagawad Victor Fontanilla and Kagawad Rene Wandagan, of Barangay Agbannawag, Tabuk City and media representative.
