Navotas students, fisherfolk to receive financial aid

Students of the Navotas Polytechnic College (NPC) and registered fishermen in Navotas City will receive financial aid under the “Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS)” program, the local government announced on Monday, April 18.

The financial aid is from the fund allotted by Representative John Rey Tiangco for the Department of Social Welfare and Development - National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR).

In a Facebook post, Tiangco said the beneficiaries of the said assistance are all NPC students enrolled for the second semester of the school year 2021- 2022 and the fishermen who have their “fisherfolk identification cards.”

For NPC students eligible for the aid, the distribution of the financial assistance will be on April 22, 29, and May 2 (all dates are Fridays). They can check their eligibility and payout schedules through this link: https://tinyurl.com/muascwyd

For the requirements, both the students and fisherfolk should present a barangay certificate of indigency, two photocopies of a valid identification card (except for old Tax Identification Number or TIN IDs, old Philhealth and fisherfolk IDs), and general intake forms.

The fisherfolk can get their General Intake Forms at the City Agriculture Office or from their Barangay Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (BFARMC) chairperson.

The students are also required to bring their certificate of eligibility.

The local government said that the submission of the requirements for the first batch of the fisherfolk will be on April 18 to 22 at the City Agriculture office where a “first come, first serve” policy will be implemented.

It added that the NPC students with complete documents can visit the NavoServe at the first floor of the Navotas City Hall on the day of their schedules.

The AICS is a part of DSWD’s protective services to support the recovery of families and individuals suffering from unexpected life events or crisis, according to www.dswd.gov.ph.
