Coast guard rescues 11 passengers on board distressed sea ambulance near Sta. Cruz Island


ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Coast Guard Zamboanga personnel rescued 11 passengers, including two accident victims, on board a distressed sea ambulance that developed engine trouble near Sta. Cruz Island, Zamboanga City on Friday, April 15.

Around 8:30 p.m. when Coast Guard Zamboanga station received a distressed call from Mr. Arman Gani who relayed that the sea ambulance he was operating experienced engine trouble.

The boat was reportedly on the way to Zamboanga City to transport two patients injured in a motorcycle accident.

A coast guard vessel arrived within the vicinity of Sta. Cruz Island and rescued 11 passengers on board the distressed vessel.

The sea ambulance was towed to the Zamboanga City port where the passengers safely disembarked.

The passengers who were injured in a motorcycle accident were Halalin Muin, 42, and Gustam Samil, 14. They were transferred to a waiting ambulance and immediately brought to a local hospital.
