Black Saturday drug op nets 2 drug suspects, seizes P680-K 'shabu'


The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated P680,000 worth of suspected methampethamine hydrochloride or "shabu" from two alleged female drug peddlers who were arrested in a buy-bust operation in San Carlos City, Pangasinan on Black Saturday, April 16.

The PDEA identified the suspects as Lilyn Billote and Lucia Salazar, both considered by the PDEA as "high value targets" (HVTs) in Pangasinan.

The suspects were collared by the combined teams of PDEA Region 1 Office and the local police at 12 midnight in Barangay Mamarlao after allegedly selling illegal drugs to an undercover agent.

The PDEA said their agents confiscated around one kilogram of suspected shabu, one genuine P1,000 cash placed on top of 399 pieces of photo copied P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, and one cellular phone from the suspects.

Billote and Salazar face charges for violation of Section 5, Article !! of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002."
