Where are Mayor Vico's campaign posters?

Incumbent Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto revealed on Thursday the reason why there are almost no posters of him around the city despite his re-election bid for a second term as mayor in the May 2022 elections.

During one of his campaign sorties in Palatiw, Sotto was surprised after seeing a makeshift poster of him made by one of the residents. He said: "Sobrang nakakataba ng puso. Maraming salamat po sa mga nagpapagawa ng mga materials (It is so heartwarming to see this. Thank you very much to those who are making these materials)."

"Araw-araw may naghahanap ng mga solo tarp ko. May pinagawa ako, pero para lang sa Common Poster Areas ng Comelec (Commission on Elections). Mga 200 pieces lang yun (Everyday, there are people looking for my solo tarps. I ordered and deployed some of them but only for the Common Poster Areas of COMELEC. Those are only around 200 pieces)," he added.

The mayor said this explains why his fight is for the achievement of true change.

"Dahil para maging matagumpay ang susunod na yugto ng pagbabago, importante na meron tayo ng mga ka-prinsipyo at mapagkakatiwalaang vice mayor at mga konsehal (It is important to have people with the same principles like ours as well as a trustworthy vice mayor and councilors to make the next step towards change a reality)," Sotto said.

"Gaya nating lahat, ang mga kasama natin sa Giting ng Pasig ay hindi perpekto. Pero sila po ay mga taong naniniwala sa mga pagbabagong pinapatupad natin sa ating Lungsod. Naging handa silang talikuran ang tradisyunal na politika, at nagkasundo kami na kung papalarin ay tuluyan na nating kakalimutan ang mga lumang kalakaran na hindi tama (Just like everyone else, the members of Giting ng Pasig are not perfect, but they are people who believe in the changes we are trying to make for our city. They turned their backs from traditional politics and agreed on the fact that if we indeed win, we will forever bid goodbye to the old and wrong practices)," he added.

Running in the upcoming elections with Sotto are Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr. for vice mayor and re-electionist Congressman Roman Romulo.

The team’s candidates for councilor for District 1 are: Mark Gil “Volta” Delos Santos, Roderick “Eric” Gonzales, Raymund “Kiko” Rustia, Paul Roman “Pao” Santiago, Paul Senogat, and Simon Romulo Tantoco.

For District 2: Noel “Buboy” Agustin, Quin “Kin” Cruz, Maria Luisa “Angelu” De Leon, Marion “Mato” Martires, and Corazon “Corie” Raymundo.
