7 drug suspects nabbed by police during Holy Week in Taguig


Seven people were arrested by the police for suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P212,160 in anti-criminality operations during Holy Week in Taguig.

According to the Southern Police District (SPD), on April 13, the Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) conducted a buy-bust operation at MLQ Street in Barangay Bagumbayan.

Arrested during the operation were Joseph Barredo, 35, and June Bryan Sanchez, 20. Recovered by the police were six plastic sachets containing suspected to shabu weighing nine grams with a value of P61,200 and P200 buy-bust money.

On Maundy Thursday, April 14, at Sitio Kaunlaran in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig, three people were caught in possession of suspected illegal drugs during an “Oplan Galugad” by the Taguig police’s Sub-Station 2 personnel.

The suspects were identified as Ephraim Leysa Jr., construction worker, 36; Isalino Galo, 39; and Kim Datiles, 27, construction worker.

Seized from them were three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 2.2 grams with an estimated value of P14,960.

Also on April 14, the Taguig DEU conducted a buy-bust operation at Viscara Street, Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig that resulted in the arrest of suspects Mar Andrew Simbulan, 33; and Angelito Simbulan, 20.

The operation yielded seven plastic sachets containing suspected weighing 20 grams with a value of P136,000 and P300 buy-bust money.

All the arrested suspects are now detained at the custodial facility of the Taguig City Police Station and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
